Glock is Glock, and what they did was in their minds improve on their design. Time will tell, meanwhile people will cry and whine about nonsense. I have a beat up Gen 4 19 that I carry all the time, I'm in no hurry to get anything else and if I did I would buy another gen 4 just for parts commonality. Not because the gen 5 is bad.

Well, the Gen 4 (GL-446) and Gen 5 (GL-5446) front sight heights are different. It stems from differences between the Gen 4/5 Glock 19. My G19 has the default plastic sights, which measure as follows: front sight: 0.165" from top of slide to top of sight. rear sight: 0.240" from bottom of dovetail to top of sight.

Texas. Gen 5. Slide is more durable than the gen 4 guns, better RSA system than gen 1-3's, backstraps are better than the take it or leave it gen 1-3 setup.
