I'm running Windows 7, so here is the directions for Windows 7. 1. Right-Click the Start button and select "Explore". 2. Navigate to " C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ ". 3. Create a directory called "Microsoft Games", if not already present. 4. In that directory, create another directory called "Age of Empires III".
Right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin). In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter: Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers.
FWIW, I’ve had the original AOE installed on my Windows 10 system and working fine since the Windows 10 Beta was released. Run the game as administrator to fix a lot of the lockups. Do not expect AOE to do full screen or high def on new systems or large monitors.
OK! What you need to do is right click MSAoE.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatibility and then run the program with windows 95. Go down to settings and run in 256 colours. Then select run as adiministrator. Click apply then run the trial version download. Please note: This may temporarily mess up the colour scheme on your PC.
